there's me and the girls supporting our guy's soccer team!

me and Lee (I bought that shirt he's wearing, aren't i smart??)

me and my silly roommates: Mallory, Ali, and Stephany!

that's it for now.... oh, but a quick update for those of you who haven't seen me in a while- my hair is brown now! I did it over christmas break. I mean, not too dark, but it was darker than its ever been before... its fading nicely now but sometimes i miss my blonde hair... sometimes i miss my tan too but ya know, thats a whole other story!

Alright... I've gotta get to bed so I can wake up tomorrow and make it successfully through Wednesday. Ya know, once you've made it through Wednesday, your week's almost over! So, chin up everybody and keep smiling!! *smile*

Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."

James 4:13-15

...Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say

                  It is well...

It is well with my soul....

I know... I know.... 2 posts in ONE MONTH.... it's hardly like me at all and you're probably starting to wonder who this is writing on here. it really is me, I promise! And though I do lie on occassion, I never break my promises... at least I do my very best not to. I dunno, it's break, I'm not working, nothing is going on... seems like a good time to write on here! Of course, then there's nothing to update on, but... whatev!

Soooo, Christmas was m'mazing! I thought it wouldn't be the same, being on a Sunday, and it wasn't, and I liked it a lot. My Grandpa from VA came for Christmas and him and my fam went to church that morning. Then we went to my Grandma's to see the fam and exchange gifts there. I got 2 cute purses, a ring, a cute cute watch, aaaaand....something else? i can't remember. I love my family. They make me laugh sooo much! I wish I could explain to you all of the hilariousness that is my extended family, but it just wouldn't be funny to anyone who wasn't there. Here's an idea though. For Christmas, my dad and his four sisters ("the aunts") got my Grandma a combined gift, which was supposed to be a basket of useful things. Mostly, that's what it was and it was overflowing! The last thing she opened was a bird house for small birds that come to her yard. It was handcrafted, made from wood, and probably unreturnable. It was a carving of an old man's face, with a beard, a pointy head and a huge nose. How do the birds get into this house you ask? No other way but through the nostrils of the old man's face!!! (this was a very big nose!) I tried not to laugh while my aunts, in all seriousness, told my grandma that it was a piece of art AND a birdhouse. My grandma just kept sticking her fingers up its nose, trying to figure out where the birds go once they're in there.... in a nutshell, that's my family. and i love them.

After Grandma's, we went home and opened our gifts there. There are too many to name, but plenty and I loved them all! My gifts included some way cute tan boots (which i had to exchange for a different size, and they had just one pair left when i went!! yay!), lots of movies, the soundtrack to Walk the Line (love it. see it!), a new jogging suit thing (way cute and a motivation to start training for the mini marathon in the spring!), a denim jacket, Crest whitening strips, and lots of other way exciting stuff! THe day was a delight and i loved it more than i knew i would.

I'm using the crest whitening strips this week... they make my teeth sensitive and sometimes leave little white spots on my teeth. they make me talk like i have a retainer too. but these are all small pains for white teeth and i can't wait till day 7 when i reveal a new smile! I'm planning to get my hair done while I'm home too... pretty much, the new year equals a new me and no one will even know who i am when i step foot back on milligan's campus! okay, that's a lie, but let's pretend its true... wouldn't that be funny if no one knew who i was? actually, i'm really really tired, so i'm going to tell you what i did today and then stop rambling....

So, today i went tubing with heather, my cousins Michelle and Tracy, and their kids Ally, Troy, and Rebecca. It was waaay fun! way. i had never done that before. everyone needs to do it sometime... just, here's a hint: take the lift back up the hill, no matter how long the line is. walking up the hill burns calories, yes. but, it burns them all. all of them. it burns all of your calories and energy and every living breath you have in you. just take the lift. just do it. okay? okay. So, it was a fun filled day! I'm exhausted.... i've stayed up late the past few nights and haven't slept in for a few days now... plus I've been sick and my throat hurts now. but that's okay... i can sleep in tomorrow!  sweet wonderfulness...

okay, so i'm gonna go put on a Crest strip... whiten whiten whiten! It's like my new hobby or something! keep smiling friends, and leaving those messages!!

thank you God for giving us food...

Not only is my roommate singing a song that goes "thank you God for giving us food," but she even has hand motions!! She's jolly. I don't know why... she just failed a humanities final. I mean, so did I, but I'm not thanking God for the food. Maybe I have something to learn from her... hmm....

So, friends.... it's been a while. quite a while. A long long while. It's not like you actually check for posts because I never do them, but I'm going to anyway. I had my humanities final tonight, 4-6. It was sad to walk out and it be dark outside. It was sad to walk out, knowing I had totally made up an entire essay that was worth 20 points. Also sad that I know nothing about the consolidation of my country... but then again, who does? Well, its over and that's what counts. Plus, me, steph and Ali all went to Sonic afterwards for dinner, and if their food isn't good enough, then just take a bite of their ice! It's enough to turn your gray skies blue again! I have a final tomorrow... i was getting ready to study for it and decided to browse around online instead... and then i was like HEY- good time to update the ol' journal! I mean, I'm going to fail the Earth and Space final anyway, so why worry?! I kinda like finals week though, because you don't have classes... i mean, it's just as stressful but in a different way... i'm a fan actually. I've decided.

Know what else I've decided? I love my family. I'm looking at this thing on my desk that my mom sent me in a package this weekend. It was a finals-week-package. It's this miniature bowling set... has tiny pins and a bowling ball. It's weird. It's random. It's bazarre. To be completely honest, I'm not sure where in this world my mom got it from... i mean, I can only imagine. It makes people laugh at me too. But to be honest with you... i really want to open it right this second and play! I think I will... i mean, my roommate's thanking God for the food, she won't really think I'm all that weird!

I have one hundred thousand things I could say on here, things going on, things to catch you up on. But thats too many... So, here's some highlights. We had a secret santa in my girl's Bible study and I got a cool journal! Lee and I have been together for 6 months, Saturday. I'm almost done reading the third Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants book! I changed my bed, finally, and have red soft sheets on there now. I'm staring at a tiny bowling game and can't wait to play. I'm gonna go eat breakfast tonight at 9:30 in our cafeteria (cool, i know!) I have a final tomorrow, and two Thursday, and then I'm DONE! I also have a paper to write for Thursday but it's an easy one. Uuum, I bought a jean skirt (finally!!) at AE for $20! And, me and Steph have christmas lights and a cute little christmas tree up in our room!!

well... what else, i dont know. i guess that's it for now! Shout out to Heather, because she makes the world go round! And also, if anyone is stressing about finals, just go blare some Kelly Clarkson and sing your little hearts out!!!! You know what I always say... anytime is a good time for Kelly Clarkson! *smiles* Smile friends, and leave me some comments!! (pleeeease, even though I'm a bad updater!)

ps- shout out to Justin and Michael (even though they dont read this) for my music selection! i live for wednesdays and our theme songs!!

hey kitties! so i never post, i know. but i got on here and was looking at comments from people and that was nice! i'm actually not posting now either, cuz... really, i don't have the time. I just took this test online and got a pirate name, and i wanted to share it with you all. (yes, i have time for pirate names and not xanga... it's all about priorities!) So, my name is Red Mary Kidd, and here's what it said about me:

Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate.    Arr!

I think that's pretty good for being a pirate and all... if you wanna get your own name, go here:  http://www.fidius.org/quiz/pirate/

well, i've gotta go talk to my teacher about a test, do an extra credit thing for sociology, and then headed to dinner, gonna go running with Steph, and have Bible Study and then Social Affairs. has anyone been outside today, btw? It's so amazing, i just want to live out there! Okay, smile for me and enjoy this post- they only come once a year! pretty much anyway...
